On the Ground at the Redwood City AI Accelerator

September 30, 2026

By the C3 AI Editorial Staff

On September 23, 110 people from 46 companies arrived at our global headquarters in Redwood City, California, with ideas for what AI could do for their businesses. Just hours later, they had built 87 applications.

Our AI Accelerator is a hands-on masterclass in agentic AI where participants learn by building with C3 Code, our enterprise agentic app builder. With both enterprise and sample data, attendees described their business problem and end-goal app in natural language, then built, tested, and refined their applications in hours.

C3 Code makes that speed possible by combining autonomous agents with proven industry application services drawn from nearly two decades of Enterprise AI deployments. Compressing the path from idea to working solution, it designs, builds, tests, and deploys applications, with the flexibility to work across AI models.

What Stood Out to Builders

Participants highlighted how much they could do in one place. One described C3 Code as a “complete” environment, with “code, data, and application living in one place.” Others pointed to applications generated from a single prompt, reusable components that accelerated their builds, and data sources connected with little direction.

The speed stood out, too. One participant built in hours what he had expected to take weeks. Another reported making more progress in two hours than in a month with a general-purpose AI tool.

From manufacturing and healthcare to energy, financial services, and government, participants tackled challenges across industries. Here’s what they built.

Enterprise Software

Even companies that build software for a living found plenty to build, turning C3 Code on their own operations. A payroll and human resources software company built an internal employee help desk app, consolidating disparate data into a single-pane-of-glass view for faster answer retrieval and time-to-issue-resolution. Their attendee highlighted its clean, user-friendly appearance and how well it would integrate with live data.

An engineer from an open-source enterprise software company built a workflow generator for AI agents — a tool that takes a set of agent capabilities and automatically produces a structured, context-aware workflow graph connecting them. C3 Code generated most of the working application from a single prompt, or “one shot,” with little manual iteration.

A corporate data and analytics company built a data visualization app to track nonprofits and donations using IRS Form 990 data (the public financial filing nonprofits submit annually). An attendee from an enterprise cybersecurity company created an app to streamline how their employees access product lead times, valuable information used daily in sales calls. A participant from an AI inference company built internal tools for sales and revenue operations.

Consumer Software

An attendee from a leading food delivery and mobility platform built a dispute-resolution app for food-delivery disagreements. When something goes wrong with an order in the platform, the C3 Code–built app adjudicates those competing claims, weighs them against historical fraud patterns, and produces a resolution decision. The participant emphasized the financial and reputational consequences of these decisions and the value of using data to resolve them.

Enterprise Consultancies

In the fast-paced, results-driven world of consulting, C3 Code provides value by collapsing the distance from business problem to working solution. It also moves domain experts, not just engineers, into the builder’s seat, empowering development without waiting on engineering resources. One consultant built a production planning app for an oil refinery use case, highlighting the accuracy of the result and how closely it matched their original requirements.

A team from another firm created a supply chain and manufacturing optimizer for a cement and ready-mix network. Pre-built components for data pipelines, models, and services accelerated development, allowing the team to focus on the site optimization logic specific to its use case.

Semiconductors

Participants from semiconductor companies put their operational data to work on challenges ranging from forecasting to sourcing hard-to-find parts. One built a forecast comparison solution. Another created a spare-parts sourcing tool for difficult, obsolete equipment used in semiconductor fabrication. Beyond locating parts, the app uses agents to take the next step by generating and sending email outreach to source the parts. A third focused on sales and internal program management, building an app with database connectors and enterprise-grade security and systems integration. He noted that these capabilities were essential for his company to adopt AI.

Government

Federal Government Agency

For one participant from a cabinet-level federal agency, the goal was to understand what new regulations cost businesses and the public. He built a regulatory cost analysis app, using existing code repositories, regulatory text, existing datasets, and cost drivers. C3 Code analyzed those sources and identified the information that would be relevant to the application.

Local Municipality

Two local government participants built seven apps, including a solution to track Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and prioritize actionable tasks to remediate them. CVEs are the standard way of cataloging publicly known security flaws in software and hardware. The solution brings together critical data scattered across servers, endpoints, cloud and network tools, threat-intelligence feeds, and ticketing systems. From there, it supports the full remediation process. It gives users a consolidated view of their exposure, prioritizes the highest-risk flaws, and dispatches an agent to make and test a fix. The agent then reports the results so the case can be closed. In a space where delays in action can have massive impacts on not just the organization itself, but also on private citizens outside of the organization, C3 Code provides accelerated time-to-resolution.

Federal Services Firms

Attendees from two federal partners, a systems integrator and a data-analytics consultancy, built a range of applications.

From the systems integrator came four solutions: first, a contract intelligence platform to extract and analyze key terms, obligations, and risks across large volumes of government contracts; second, an HR data conformance tool to standardize personnel records and flag data that doesn't meet required formats or rules; third, a data validation app to catch inaccurate, missing, or malformed records before they reach downstream systems; and fourth, an RFI auto-response prototype, an experiment in handing C3 Code a Request for Information and having it draft an appropriate response along with its own synthetic supporting data.

Builders from the federal consultancy focused on Medicare payments. Using synthetic claims data, they built PIVOT, Payment Integrity Validation and Oversight Tool. The app prices claims against Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rates, runs payment-integrity rules, and holds risky claims with a plain-language explanation. The workflow continues through review and recovery, routing claims to analysts and requiring supervisor approval for amounts over $25,000. It also includes drafted demand letters, recovery tracking, and a full audit trail.

National Research Laboratory

Attendees from a U.S. national research laboratory focused on a shared challenge: keeping complex facilities and equipment running reliably. One used sample data to build a facility-reliability app with dashboards designed around a facility manager’s priorities: what is at risk, what needs attention, and what to address first.

Another tackled the two sides of predicting failure at once, building one app that flags equipment nearing the end of its engineered lifespan (useful for planning replacements before parts break) and a second that reads live sensor data to catch a specific machine degrading in real time.

“[C3 Code] allowed me to design an app against a data ontology at the speed of thought and integrate machine learning and AI insights.”

Financial Services

An engineer from a major U.S. bank used C3 Code to build a tool to extract, process, and report on how internal teams use different products, turning raw usage into behavioral insight. What set the build apart was that he used C3 Code as a design partner, not just a builder: he had it compare his requirements against industry standards, call out gaps and deviations, produce a design document, and stand up a test bed where pilot users could tune the output. For a regulated institution, that attention to standards was particularly valuable. He also highlighted the clarity of the prompt-based interaction and the app’s data visualizations.

Distribution

Attendees representing distributors in fresh produce and industrial equipment leveraged C3 Code to build solutions for common supply chain problems. The attendee from the industrial distributor built an app to integrate supply chain and product data, and was struck by the autonomy in C3 Code: “How much it knew about my data. It consumed and associated various data sources without direction,” pulling disparate sources together into a unified foundation.

“I really valued the pre-built templates to allow my company to see industry standard ways of looking at and solving issues.”

The attendee from the fresh product grower-distributor focused on what could go wrong before an order reaches its destination. He built an app to predict order-fulfillment issues, helping the team to act before orders are affected, and highlighted the quality of C3 Code’s output in a short amount of time.

Shipbuilding

A North American shipbuilder took its existing project schedule a step further with C3 Code. Starting with a real schedule from Oracle Primavera P6, the company’s project planning and scheduling tool, the participant built a custom app that lets users explore the plan through natural-language questions.

The app combines scenario analysis with a timeline, dashboard, and progress tracking against the original plan. Users can ask how a change would affect the build, compare scenarios, and see how a delayed task would affect subsequent work and deadlines.

The result puts complex schedule analysis within reach of anyone who can ask a question, from project managers to shipyard supervisors.
