C3.ai had a significant presence at the second annual Internet of Manufacturing (IoM) Midwest conference in Chicago this week‚ focused on the topic of AI and the future of manufacturing.
The conference brought together more than 300 business and technical experts in manufacturing to tackle issues such as the implementation of IoT in manufacturing‚ real-time predictive analytics‚ and applications such as AI-based inventory optimization. Amazon Web Services (AWS) joined C3.ai in sponsoring the event.
C3.ai Vice President Jim Hassman gave the opening remarks to an audience of more than 250 top manufacturing leaders. He addressed the changes in technology that are enabling manufacturers to quickly build big data‚ predictive analytics‚ AI‚ and IoT applications. While these applications unlock value for manufacturers‚ the need to adapt business processes and how people interact and work with AI will determine the value of these applications‚ said Hassman.
Digital transformation was a key theme of the event‚ spurring interest among participants. The popular “AI at Enterprise Scale” session detailed the application of AI‚ IoT‚ and model-driven software architecture to realize enterprise digital transformation. Other topics included Industry 4.0‚ smart manufacturing‚ and using a manufacturing “digital twin” for data analytics.
The keynote panel “How Leading American Manufacturers are Ensuring Optimal Industrial IoT Implementation Across Their Plants” was chaired by C3.ai and addressed topics such as legacy system integration and measuring IoT-enabled production optimization. The panel united executives from Thyssenkrupp‚ Air Products‚ GE Aviation‚ Weill-McLain‚ and MESA International to share insights around standards in production equipment‚ sensors‚ and IT systems for data and analytics.
The Internet of Manufacturing Midwest conference was held June 6-7‚ 2018 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile.
