C3 CEO Thomas M. Siebel delivered the mainstage keynote address today at The Montgomery Summit, the invitation-only conference for technology visionaries, innovators, and investors. The Summit gathers experts from around the world to exchange ideas about the most important innovations in business and technology.
In a fireside chat with Forbes publisher Rich Karlgaard in front of a packed audience, Siebel shared his perspective on the most significant trends driving business innovation and disruption.
Digital transformation, Siebel explained, has created a corporate mass extinction event. Companies that fail to embrace disruptive new technologies, including AI, IoT, and elastic cloud computing, will simply cease to exist. Enterprises are at a critical juncture and Siebel urged attendees to mobilize their organizations for digital transformation before it is too late.
Siebel was also featured on Nasdaq TV, broadcast live for Facebook from the floor of the Summit. He addressed questions about C3’s path to market leadership and the changing nature of work. As AI brings dramatic efficiencies to product development and delivery, customer service, and manufacturing processes, there are significant implications for jobs, Siebel said. Some jobs will disappear and many new jobs will be created. AI will have enormous positive impact on the way people live, communicate, and recreate, Siebel concluded.
This year’s Montgomery Summit was held at the iconic Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica, CA, under the banner of “Innovation, Disruption, and the Future of Technology.” Siebel delivered the closing keynote at the Montgomery Summit in October 2017, which featured industry experts and investors who are driving the fourth industrial revolution.
